Could you be an Amazon Worker?

by The Captcha Chameleons

A satirical escape-room challenge that tests candidates’ "roboticness" to see if they’re fit for the dystopian demands of an Amazon warehouse job.

As young graduates in a highly technological age, we are increasingly concerned about the rapid rise of AI and its impact on future job opportunities.

At the same time, reports highlight how CEOs like Bill Gates lead workplaces where employees are heavily exploited. Workers are monitored constantly and pressured to meet strict quotas, often forced to take shorter breaks and work at a robotic pace.

Our dystopian vision is that, if this continues, AI will replace these jobs entirely, as machines work faster and don’t need breaks. We fear even these roles will soon be out of reach.

Our concept satirizes this future with an escape-room challenge for Amazon-Worker candidates. We track how "robotic" participants are to see if they can meet Amazon warehouse demands. Successful players receive a symbolic key granting access to potential job opportunities.

Interaction:

Users pick up a box and must move to trigger a white light on the shelf. Incorrect moves turn lights red and decrement a dashboard arrow, showing human error. Correct moves turn the light green and increment the arrow, showing robotic precision.

Reaching 100% earns a pin to open the Amazon Warehouse gate. Failure means disqualification.

  • Input: Users physically engage by moving boxes with robotic precision, aiming to trigger the correct light response.
  • Output: The system provides feedback with colored lights and a dashboard. Successful users unlock a digital pin granting access to the symbolic gate. We plan to display a leaderboard showing fastest completions to highlight robotic mastery.
